1. Introduction

Hugline ("we", "our", or "the app") is a contact reminder application that helps you stay in touch with the people who matter most. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use Hugline.

2. Data Collection & Storage

Hugline stores all of your data locally on your device using on-device storage (AsyncStorage). We do not operate any cloud servers that store your personal data.

• No cloud sync: Your data is never uploaded to external servers.
• No accounts required: There is no user account, login, or registration.
• No social features: There is no sharing, social feed, or community functionality.
• Device-only: If you delete the app, your data is permanently removed.

3. Contacts Access

Hugline requests permission to access your device's contacts to help you select people you want to stay in touch with.

• Read-only access: Hugline only reads your contacts. We never modify, edit, delete, or add contacts on your device.
• On-device only: Contact data is accessed locally and is never transmitted off your device.
• Permission required: You must explicitly grant contacts permission. You can revoke it at any time through your device settings.

4. Push Notifications

Hugline uses push notifications to remind you to reach out to your contacts. Notification preferences and schedules are stored locally on your device. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the app.

5. Analytics & Tracking

Hugline does not include any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. We do not collect usage data, behavioral data, or any form of telemetry from your device.

6. Third-Party Services

Hugline integrates with the following third-party services:

• Apple App Store: If you subscribe to Hugline Premium, your purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs these transactions.
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs): Used to deliver reminder notifications to your device.

7. In-App Purchases

Hugline offers an optional premium subscription ($1.99/month or $14.99/year). All payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or process any payment or financial information.

8. Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Your data persists as long as the app is installed on your device.
• Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all associated data.
• We have no ability to access, recover, or delete your data remotely.

9. Children's Privacy

Hugline is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since all data remains on the user's device and no data is transmitted to us, there is no mechanism through which we could collect children's data.

10. Data Security

Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features, including device encryption and biometric locks. Since no data leaves your device, there is no risk of server-side data breaches affecting your information.

11. Your Rights

Because Hugline does not collect or store your data on any server, traditional data subject rights (access, deletion, portability) are managed entirely through your device. You can delete all Hugline data at any time by uninstalling the app.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
